Dr. CHONG ZHENG
Dr. Zheng, is a soloist, collaborative pianist, and piano instructor. She received her D.M.A degree in piano performance at Michigan State University and a Master of Music degree in piano performance from Indiana University Bloomington Jacobs School of Music.
She is a member of the Michigan Music Teachers Association (MMTA) and the Music Teacher’s National Association (MTNA), has been an active collaborative pianist at MSU, and taught private lessons in Michigan, she wants students to enjoy playing music and loves working with students of all ages, she is bilingual in English and Mandarin.
Zheng has fourteen years experience of teaching piano, familiar with SAT (Student Achievement Testing), AGM competition, varied music festivals, etc.…, each year students received first awards and high remarks by judges. Dr. Zheng has experience working with students of different ages, races, and levels, students enjoy the lessons, she is good at music theory as well, so students will learn music along with the music theory and music history/stories.
Zheng is also an extraordinary collaborative pianist, she worked as a music coach at Des Moines Metro Opera in 2020, and I was hired as a music director at the 2020 OPERA Iowa Education Touring Troupe annual tour. She is familiar with ballet classes and dance music, She was working as a ballet class accompanist at Alma College and Indiana University Bloomington ballet department as well.
Zheng is a versatile pianist whose work takes in opera, the symphony orchestra, chamber music, and song recitals. Her recent performance experiences vary from accompanying entrants to the Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition, to solo and collaborative performance with wind Symphony at Michigan State University. Notable venues for her performances include Cook recital Hall in East Lansing, Wharton Center for Performing Arts Cobb Great Hall in East Lansing, and Auer Hall in Bloomington, her performances have been broadcast on WFMT radio, Chicago.
